This book is an absolute game changer! Not being an accountant I had a bit of knowledge about accounts but didn’t really understand the principles. By the end of the first chapter I was wondering why no one had ever managed to explain the basics before!

Mr. Stone has an uncanny knack of highlighting the important and relevant items to give you a very clear idea of the financial health or otherwise of an organisation. He writes in an easy and almost simplistic style but do not let this fool you. Understand Accounting is a very interesting and easy to understand introduction to basic financial accounting. It is written like a story, which actually makes you want to keep reading (unlike some accountancy text books I’ve tried to read!).
The book is aimed at anyone who needs to read and understand published accounts, for example company directors, shareholders, non financial managers, etc. It is written in such a way that, regardless of the educational level of the reader, all the topics are meaningful, applicable and comprehensive.
